The County Executive is the chief elected official in the County and the administrative head of County government. In addition he serves as the Chief Budget Officer of the County and is responsible for preparing the operating and capital budgets of the County and presenting these budgets to the Legislature for approval. The County Executive is elected in a general county-wide election to a four-year term.
